Forex Fiyatlarin Grafige Aktarimi

Fiyat grafikleri, yatay eksende zamanı, dikey eksende fiyatı belirten bir alan içine
yerleştirilirken farklı yöntemlerden faydalanılabilir. En Çok kullanılan grafiklendirme
türlerini açıklayalım

Çubuk Grafik :
Fiyatın kapanış anındaki seviyesinin, en yüksek ve en düşük değerlerinin göründüğü
bir sistemdir. Belirlenen zaman dilimi bazında hesaplanırlar. Bir örnekle açıklarsak, altta
USD/JPY paritesinin ( Amerikan Doları / Japon Yeni ) günlük olarak hazırlanmış çubuk
grafiği gözükmektedir.
Bu grafikte, her gün için ayrı ayrı hazırlanan çubuklar yan yana dizilir. Buradaki
çubukların anlamı ise,
Gün içindeki en yüksek değer ile en düşük değer belirlenir ve bu iki nokta
birleştirilir. Ve kapanış fiyatı bir yatay çizik tarafından gösterilir.
20 Kasım günü için belirtilen grafikte, gün içi en yüksek değer 118.18, en düşük
değer 117.77 ve kapanış değeri 118.09 olarak gösterilmiştir.
Çizgi Grafik :
Bu grafik türü sadece kapanış fiyatlarını baz alarak çizilen bir grafiktir. Kapanış
fiyatları nokta olarak işaretlenir ve sonra bu noktalar birleştirilir. Buradaki amaç sadece
kapanış fiyatlarını takip etmektir. Çubuk grafiklere göre daha az detay içerir. Kapanış ve
açılış fiyatları hakkında bilgi vermez. Aynı örneği çizik grafik yardımı ile gösterir isek,

Burada her bir tepe ya da dip noktası bir gün kapanışını belirtir. 16.11.2006 da
118.20 seviyelerinden kapanan parite, 17.11.2006 da 117.75 ten kapanış göstermiştir.
20.11.2006 kapanışı ise 118.09 olmuştur.
Mum Grafik:
Aralarında en detaylı grafik türü mum grafiktir. Japonlar tarafından ortaya çıkmıştır.
Paritenin açılış fiyatı, kapanış fiyatı, gün içinde ulaştığı en yüksek değer, gün içinden
ulaştığı en düşük değer ve paritenin yönünü belirtir.

DÜŞÜŞ YÜKSELİŞ
Görüldüğü gibi mum grafiklerde farklı verileri bir arada bulmak mümkündür.
Kutular açılış ve kapanış fiyatı arasındaki farkı gösterir. Üstte ve alttaki ince çubuklar ise
en yüksek ve en düşük fiyatlara kadar uzar. Yükselen bir seyir halindeyse yani açıldığı
fiyattan daha yüksek bir fiyatla kapanış gerçekleştiyse, içi boş beyaz kutular çizilir. Ama
kapanış fiyatı, açılış fiyatının altında kaldıysa içi dolu siyah mumlarla ifade edilirler. Düşüş
olduğu durumda açılış fiyatının, kapanış fiyatından üstte olması gerekir. İlk grafikte
kutunun üst kısmından açılış yapmış, kapanış fiyatı, açılış fiyatının altında kalmıştır. İkinci
grafikte ise kapanış fiyatı, açılış fiyatının üstünde olduğu için, mum grafikte üst tarafta yer
almaktadır. Günün en yüksek ve en düşük değerleri yine çubuklar ile çizilmiştir. Kapanış
değeri en düşük fiyata, açılış fiyatı da en yüksek fiyata eşit olan günlerde bir çubuk söz
konusu olamaz.

Bu grafikte günlük veriler kullanılarak, daha önce incelediğimiz fiyatları mum
grafikler yardımı ile görüyoruz. Daha önceki tablolar ile karşılaştırırsanız, fiyatlardaki
yükselme ve düşmeleri ve kutuların aldığı renkleri daha net görebilirsiniz. 20.11.2006
tarihine bakarsak, açılış fiyatı, gün içindeki en düşük değer olduğu için, alt tarafta bir
çubuk söz konusu değildir.
Mum grafikler detaylı oldukları için, uzmanlar tarafından daha çok tercih edilen bir
grafik türüdür. Veri bakımından da daha zengin olduğu için analiz yapılmaya daha
uygudur. Piyasanın yönü hakkında daha net sinyaller verebilir. Örneğin; İçi dolu grafikler
piyasanın zayıflayıp alçalacağını, içi boş grafikler piyasada bir toparlanma olacağını
belirtir.
Trendler :
Trend, teknik analizde fiyatların takip ettiği yönü temsil eder. Teknik analize göre
fiyatlar bir trend doğrultusunda hareket eder. Arz ve talep bu trendleri belirler. Fiyatların
takip ettiği yönü inceleyerek trendleri üçe ayırabiliriz; yukarı trend, aşağı trend yada yatay
trend .

Zamana göre ayrılan trenler ise; en az bir yıl suren uzun vadeli trend ( ana trend ),
1 ay civarında süren orta vadeli trend ve 1 ila 20 gün arası devam edebilen kısa vadeli trend
olarak üçe ayrılır.
Bu trendleri daha net belirtmek için, fiyat hareketlerinin tepe ve dip noktalarından
geçen trend çizgileri çizilir. Bunun içine en az 2 tane tepe ve dip noktasına ihtiyaç vardır.
Bu noktalar düz bir çizgi ile birleştirilir. Bu sayede bir doğru ortaya çıkar. Bundan sonraki
fiyat hareketleri bu doğrultuda giderse, trend iyice sağlamlaşır.
EUR/GBP (Euro/Sterlin ) paritesinde 2 yıllık grafiğe baktığımızda ,
1. trendimiz 2005 yılında Mart-Mayıs arasında olan orta vadeli düşüş trendi. 0.70
seviyelerinden başlayan düşüş trendi izlemiş, mayıs ortasında trend çizgisinin sonu olan
0.685 e kadar gerilemiştir. Bu trendi yukarı kırması, düşüşün kısa vadede bittiği anlamına
gelmektedir. Haziran sonuna kadar yükseliş devam etmiştir. Burada dikkat edilmesi
gereken nokta, Mart ayında yapılan tepe noktası ile Haziran ayında yapılan tepe noktası
arasındaki farktır. Görüldüğü üzere tepe noktası çok aşağıda kalmış, bir yükseliş trendi
oluşturamamıştır. Buradan anlayabiliriz ki, düşüş trendi aslında uzun vadede kırılamamış,
geçici bir yükselme yaşanmaktadır.

2. trendimiz yükseliş trendinin ardından oluşan düşüş trendidir ve bahsettiğimiz tepe
noktalarının, bir öncekini aşamaması durumu burada da söz konusu olmuştur. İlk iki tepede
oluşan trend çizgisi. 3. tepenin nerede oluşacağı konusunda bize bilgi vermektedir.
3. trendimiz de aynı şekilde orta vadeli düşüş trendidir. Son günlerde yapılan
yükseliş hareketi de tam bu seviyede son bulmuştur. Artık yükseliş trendine geçebilmek
için, fiyatın kırmızıyla çizili trend seviyesinin üstüne çıkması gereklidir.
Hem üst hem de alt seviyeleri gösterebilen trenlere kanal da denmektedir. 3.
trendimizde olduğu gibi bu kanallar fiyat hareketlerinin üst ve alt noktalarının
belirlenmesinde yardımcı olurlar.
Uzun vadeli trendler üzerine örnek verirsek,
Burada da, EUR/JPY paritesinin son 1 sene içindeki fiyat hareketleri çubuk grafikler
yardımı ile çizilmiştir. Son bir sene içinde yükselişte olan trendin, mart ayından itibaren bir
trend içerisinde hareket ettiği çok açık gözüküyor. Şu anda hala bu trend devam ediyor ve
bir düşme beklenmiyor. Aynı zamanda bu trendin içinde Haziran – Ekim ayları arasında
orta vadeli bir trend de görünüyor, bu tredin destek seviyeleri biraz daha yukarıda olduğu
gözlerden kaçmamalı. Fiyat seviyesi uzun vadeli trendin altına inmediği sürece yükselişin
devam edeceği çok net gözüküyor. 21 Kasım 2006 için konuşursak, trendin gidişatı, bir
düşme durumunda en fazla 150,00 seviyesinin görülebileceğini, buradan yükselişe
geçileceğini belirtiyor. Bu yüzden stop emri vermek istersek, bu noktanın biraz altında

emir vermek en mantıklı karar olur. Fiyat 149,50 seviyesine yavaşça iniyorsa, aylardır
süregelen trend kırılmış olur. Bu tip durumlarda pozisyonu kapatıp piyasayı biraz izlemek
ve yönün nereye gideceği konusunda fikir edinmemiz gerekmektedir.
Tabi bu karaları verirken, bu düşüşe neden olan haberleri öğrenmek gerekir. Aynı
zamanda diğer teknik analiz çalışmalarından faydalanılmasını da öneririz.

Forex Teknik Analiz

Teknik analiz, Forex yatırımcılarının vazgeçilmez yardımcısıdır. Çok kapsamlı bir
konu olması dolayısı ile burada sadece temelini anlatacağız. Daha detaylı şekilde öğrenmek
isterseniz, sadece bu konu üzerine yazılmış kaynaklardan faydalanabilirsiniz.
Teknik analiz, yatırımcıların psikolojisi ile ilgilenir. Geçmişten günümüze kadar
olan süreçte yatırımcıların, belirli seviyelerde, aynı psikoloji içinde olduğu ve bu
seviyelerden birlikte olarak hareket ettiği düşünülür. Unutmayın ki, bugün oluşan fiyatlar,
çeşitli haber, talep ve beklentiler ile oluşmuştur. Geçtiğimiz günlerdeki ve yıllardaki
fiyatların oluşma koşulları da aynıydı. O günlerde de, yatırımcılar bu haberleri bekliyor ve
aynı psikoloji içine giriyordu. Doğal olarak alım ve satımlar meydana geliyor, bunun
sonucunda fiyatlar hareketleniyordu. Bugünde aynı beklentiler olacak, bugünde insanlar
aynı beklentilerle yatırım kararı alacaktır. Bu yüzden geçmiş hareketlerden yararlanmak,
bugüne ışık tutabilir. İşte teknik analizin çıkış noktası budur.
Teknik analizde kullanılan formüller vardır. Bu formüllerde çıkan rakamlar, grafik
üzerinde gösterilir. Bu grafikler yatırımcı için bazı sinyaller verir. Bahsettiğimiz formülleri
oluşturmak için, bazı girdiler gereklidir. Formüllerde genelde aynı girdiler kullanılır fakat
oranları ve hesaplaması faklı olduğu için farklı sonuçlara ulaşılır. Bu girdiler genel olarak,
kapanış fiyatı, açılış fiyatı, gün içindeki en yüksek değer, gün içindeki en düşük değer,
ortalama fiyat, zaman, işlem hacmi, sapmalar vb.
Teknik analizi bir kek olarak düşünebilirsiniz. Evet, bu benzetmeyi şu şekilde
örnekleyebiliriz;
Bir kek yapmak istediğimizde temel girdiler bellidir. Un, su, kabartma tozu, vanilya,
şeker vb. ama biz bunların oranlarını değiştirirsek yeya bazılarını kullanmazsak, faklı
birkaç madde kullanarak, ( kakao, portakal, reçel ) onlarca farklı kek yapabiliriz. Aynı
şekilde teknik analizde de, az önce bahsettiğimiz girdileri kullanarak, zamanlarını
değiştirerek, bazılarını kullanmayarak, onlarca teknik analiz grafiği ortaya çıkartılabilir.
Özellikle bilgisayar kullanımının artmasıyla, formül sayısı da artmıştır.
Bir örnek vermek gerekirse, Stokastik grafiğini bulmak için paritenin;
Bugünkü kapanış fiyatı – 5 gün içindeki en düşük fiyatı

5 gün içindeki en yüksek fiyatı – 5 gün içindeki en düşük fiyatı
Verilerini kullanarak buluruz.

Akümülayson/Distrübüsyon Grafiğini bulmak için,
(Günlük kapanış-Günlük en düşük) – (Günlük en yüksek – Günlük kapanış)
X işlem miktarı
Günlük en yüksek – Günlük en düşük
Verileri kullanılarak bulunur. Görüldüğü gibi girdiler temelde aynıdır, fakat oranları ve
hesaplanma yöntemleri faklı olduğundan değişik sonuçlar verirler.
Bu basit tanımlamadan sonra, birazda teknik analizin amacından bahsedelim.
Amaç :
Belirttiğimiz gibi, teknik analiz çeşitli formüllerin sonuçlarının grafik üzerinde
gösterilmesiyle oluşur. Bu grafikler fiyat grafiği ile birlikte incelenir. Amaç, formüllerin
gösterdiği sinyaller ile fiyat arasındaki bağı kurmaktır. Kısa, orta ve uzun vadeler için
yapılabilen analizler, fiyatın hangi yöne doğru hareket ettiği konusunda bize bilgi verir.
İleriki dönemde, hangi seviyeye kadar gelebilir, bu seviyenden sonra daha çok artar mı,
düşüş ne zaman son bulur, gibi soruları yanıtlamada yardımcı olan bir yöntemdir. Geçmişte
yatırımcıların alım satım yaptığı seviyeler ve zaman birimleri göz önüne alınmıştır. Hatta
iniş çıkış trendlerinin sayısına bakılarak, tahmin yapılabileceğini söyleyen teoriler de
mevcuttur.
Hatırlatalım ki, hiçbir piyasada, sadece teknik analize bakarak yatırım kararı
vermek, doğru bir strateji değildir. Bir sonraki bölümde belirteceğimiz “Temel Analiz” ile
ortak bir karar vermek en sağlıklısıdır. Çünkü piyasadan gelen veriler, haberler, seçtiğimiz
döviz birimine sahip ülkeni durumu ya da dünyadaki gelişmeler, teknik analiz için bir veri
değildir. Ani bir haber, bir anda fiyatları yukarı/aşağı götürebilir. Temel ve teknik analizi
harmanlayarak, iki analizin de aynı yönde sinyal vermesini beklemek, alınacak en sağlıklı
kararı oluşturur.

Bu konunun tüm okurlar tarafından dikkatle incelenmesi gerektiğini düşünüyoruz.
Öncelikle herkes Forex piyasalarına kazanmak için girer. Eğer ki amacımız
yatırımlarımızın değerini yükseltmek ise, başarılı olmak zorundayız. Bu bölümde Forex

Belirtelim ki, Forex piyasalarını iyice anlamak için, deneyim ve tecrübeye

değiştirmesi de seri olabilir. Bu tüyoların amacı da sizlere pariteye bir değer biçme
konusunda yardımcı olmak ve paritenin kısa vadedeki yönünü bulmanızı sağlamak için

Türkiye’de şu an için, konuyla ilgili Türkçe kitap sayısı hiç olmadığı için, elinizde tutmuş
olduğunuz bu kitap bir ilk olma özelliğini taşıyor. Umarız ki, ileriki günlerde daha detaylı
kaynaklara da sahip olacağız. Yabancı dilde yazılan kitapları okuma imkânınız var ise, bu
konu hakkında daha detaylı bilgiye ulaşabilirsiniz.
Grafikler
Teknik analiz bölümünde belirteceğimiz teknik analiz göstergelerinin
sayısı çok fazladır. Başarıya ulaşmak için, grafiklerden faydalanın ama, konuyu iyi
özümseyin, öncelikle temel olarak anlamaya çalışın. Piyasayı çözmeye çalışın. Geçmiş
fiyat hareketlerini inceleyin ve bunları grafiklerle kıyaslayın. Makro veriler ile (
ekonomik, politik haberleler ya da olaylarla ) kıyaslama yapın. Bu haberlerin hangi para
birimlerini ve pariteleri nasıl etkilediğini inceleyin.
İnternet Eğitimleri
Bazı internet sitelerinin, yatırımcılara piyasayı anlatmak, işlemler ve platform
kullanımı hakkında bilgi sunduğu, eğitim sayfaları vardır. Bu sayfaları inceleyerek, sizde
konu hakkında daha detaylı bilgiye sahip olabilirsiniz. Ülkemizden örnek vermek
gerekirse,online sitelerden ücretsiz olarak, yaklaşık yarım saat süren
online eğitim alma imkanız vardır. Eğer piyasalara ilgi duyuyorsanız, bu eğitimler çok
faydalı olacaktır.

Haberler
Dünya haberlerine asla kayıtsız kalmayın, bu haberle piyasanın gidişatını etkileyen
unsurların başında gelmektedir. Bütün başlıkları okuyun, özellikle Forex ile ilgili olanları.
Sonra da bu haberlerin, piyasayı nasıl etkilediğine bakın. Tecrübe bu şekilde kazanılır.
Hangi haberin piyasayı nasıl etkilediğini bilmek, size çok büyük avantaj sağlayacaktır.
Raporlar
İnternet sitelerinin günlük raporlarını takip edebilirsiniz. Forex ile ilgili çoğu
internet sitesi, günlük ve haftalık raporlar yayınlar, bunları takip edebilirsiniz. Aynı
zamanda bu sitelerin mail listelerine üye olabilir, bu raporları mail adresinizden de takip
edebilirsiniz.
Tahminler
Forex ile ilgili kurumların tahminlerinden faydalanmanızı öneririz. Bunlar %100
kesinlik içeren tahminler değildir, fakat uzamanlar, bu piyasaları çok daha yakından takip
ettikleri için, genelde tahminleri olumlu yönde gelişmektedir.
Dünya Endeksleri
Dünyanın önde gelen borsa endekslerini takip etmeniz (Dow-Jones, NASDAQ;
Nikkei) sizin için avantaj olacaktır. Bu endeks hareketlerini, Forex pariteleri ile kıyaslayın.
Hangi endeksin, hangi parite üzerinde ne şekilde etki bıraktığını zamanla inceleyin.
Ekonomik Veriler
Dünya’da ekonomisi kuvvetli ülkelerde açıklanan ekonomik veriler, pariteler
üzerinde etkilidir. Örneğin, tarım dışı istihdam oranı, işsizlik oranı, faiz oranları vb. Hangi
ekonomik verinin hangi parite üzerinde etki ettiğini, sonuçların hangi oranlarda etki ettiğini
kavramanız, tahminlerinizin doğruluk payını arttıracaktır.
Seminer ve Kurslar
Ülkemizde çok yaygın olmasa da, çeşitli zamanlarda Forex piyasaları hakkında
seminerler verilir. Bu seminerlere katılmak, Forex piyasalarını daha yakından tanımanız
için faydalı olacaktır.

İnternet Forumları ve Bloglar
İnternet üzerinde kurulan, katılımcıların fikirlerini paylaştığı forumlar ve kişisel
olarak fikirlerin ortaya sunumunu sağlayan bloglardan faydalanmanız, ufkunuzu açabilecek
bir yöntemdir.
Kitaplar
Ülkemizde Forex piyasalar üzerine çok fazla kitap olmamasına rağmen, özellikle
yabancı kaynaklı yayınlar sizin için faydalı olabilir. Şu an okumuş olduğunuz kitap, Forex
in temel kavramları hakkında yeterince bilgi içerse de farklı kaynakları da kullanmanız,
ileri seviye bilgiler öğrenmenizi sağlayacaktır.

2 ) Ana Menü ;
Bu bölüm Forex ekranındaki tüm pencereleri açıp kapamaya, yarayan bir menüdür.
Yardım dosyasını da içinde bulunduran bu menü, hızlı işlem imkânı sağlar.
3 ) Koteler Penceresi ;
Bu pencerede tüm pariteleri, aynı zamanda altın, gümüş gibi kıymetli madenleri,
anlık alış ve satış fiyatlarını, gün içindeki en yüksek ve en düşük değerlerini saatlerini
öğrenerek görebileceğiniz bir ekrandır.

Buradan 5 gün 24 saat, anlık fiyat verilerini görebilirsiniz. İstediğiniz parite üzerine
sağ tıklayarak, açılan menüden alım satım işlemini gerçekleştirebilirsiniz. Menü
ayarlarından bu menüyü 50 ye yakın pariteden istediğinizi seçerek kendinize özel bir ekran
yaratabilirsiniz.
4 ) Grafik Penceresi ;
Bu grafik penceresinde, ilgilendiğiniz her bir paritenin, geçmiş günlerde olan fiyat
hareketlerini görme imkânına ve canlı verilerine ulaşabilirsiniz. Özellikle anlık grafikler
gün içinde yatırımcıların en büyük yardımcısıdır. Bu grafikleri büyültüp çok daha geniş bir
ekranda izleme yapabiliriz. Teknik analiz çalışmalarına da izin veren bu pencere, bu
platformlarda değişmez bir öğedir.
Genelde yatırımcılar işlem yapmaya karar verirken, teknik analizden faydalanırlar.
Teknik analiz bu piyasalar için, özellikle yatay seyreden piyasalarda, önemli ekonomik ve
siyasi gelişmelerin beklenmediği ülkelerin para birimlerinde, bir çok yatırımcı için çok
etkili bir karar verme aracıdır.

Statü : Pozisyonunuzun durumu hakkında bilgi verir.
Kâr Alma (limit) : Otomatik emir verdiysek, pozisyonu kapatmak istediğimiz üst
miktardır. Bu seviyede pozisyonu kapatıp, elde ettiğimiz kârı hesabımıza katarız.
Zarar Stop (stop loss) : Otomatik emir verdiysek, pozisyonu kapatmak istediğimiz
alt miktardır. Eğer ki pozisyon, beklentimizin aksine gelişiyorsa, zararı durdurmak için bu
seviyeden pozisyonu kapatırız. Forex piyasalarında her işleme başlarken kullanmanızı
ısrarla istediğimiz işlem türüdür !
PL : Açık pozisyonunuzu kapattığınız taktirde elde edeceğiniz kârın, karşıt döviz
birimiyle değeri.
PL ( USD ) : Açık pozisyonunuzu kapattığınız takdirde elde edeceğimiz kârın,
Dolar olarak kârşılığı.
Noktalar : Paritenin, pozisyonu açtığımız anki fiyatı ile, pozisyon kapatmak
istediğimiz anki fiyatı arasındaki fark. ( tik veya pip)

6 ) Çalışan Emirler Penceresi ;
Bu pencerede, şu anda beklemede olan emirlerinizi görebilirsiniz. Otomatik olarak,

emirler koyarsınız.
Çoğu kullanıcının çok işine yarayan ve para kaybını önleyip ,çok büyük kâr
sağlamasına yarayan bu özelliği sizde kullanmalısınız. Eğer ki bu piyasada işlem
yapacaksanız, piyasalardan çok fazla kopmamanız gereklidir.
Ama gün 24 saat ve takdir edersiniz ki, bir insanın bu süre boyunca uyanık kalıp
piyasayı takip etmesi fizyolojik olarak imkânsızdır. Bunun için bazı yükselişleri kaçırmak,
sizin için de elde edebileceğiniz büyük bir kazancı kaçırmak anlamına gelir. Ya da bir
düşüş dalgasına piyasalardan uzaktayken yakalanmak hiçbir yatırımcı için istenen bir
durum değildir.
Bu sorunun çözümü, “limit” ve “stop” emirler! Siz nerede olursanız olun,
bilgisayarınız kapalı da olsa, açık pozisyonunuza limit emir verdiyseniz, o sizin yerinize
piyasayı takip eder ve hedeflediğiniz fiyata ulaşıldığında satışı gerçekleştirir. Ya da bir
düşüş yaşanmış ise stop emir koyarak, çok hafif bir kayıpla, büyük bir düşüşü bile
atlatabilirsiniz. Piyasayı takip edemiyorken, açtığınız pozisyon için “limit” ve “stop”
emirler koymanızı ısrarla tavsiye ediyoruz. Örnek verirsek,
EUR/USD paritesi 1,2770 seviyesindeyken, Euro aldığımızı düşünelim. Piyasayı
takip edemeyeceksek, hedef olarak belirlediğimiz 1,2810 seviyesini limit, yani “kâr alma”
emri olarak gireriz. Böylelikle bu seviyeden sonra düşüş yaşansa bile, sistem sizin
pozisyonunuzu 1,2810 dan kapatmıştır. Aynı zamanda olası sert bir düşüşten korunmak
için, 1,2750 seviyesine stop yani “zararı durdur” emri koyduğumuzu varsayalım. Böylece
olası sert bir düşüşte zararı, minimize etmiş oluruz. Parite 1,2700 seviyesine düşse bile, siz
otomatik olarak 1,2750 tan satışı gerçekleştirmiş olursunuz.
Stop seviyesini az öncede belirttiğimiz gibi her pozisyon açışta kullanmanızı ısrarla
istiyoruz. Çünkü bu piyasa içinde gerçekleşen sert hareketlerden biri, sizin beklediğiniz
yönde gerçekleşmediyse, sermayeniz azalabilir. Bunu önlemeniz gereklidir. Stop emir
zararı minimize eden bir yöntemdir.
Nasıl ki kangren, önlenmediği takdirde tüm vücuda yayılan bir hastalığa dönüşeceği
için, can kaybını önlemek amacıyla bir yerde durdurulması gerekiyorsa, aynı şekilde,

Sermayeyi bir beden,
Ters gelişen pozisyonu kangren,
Oluşan zararı da bir organ olarak düşünürsek,
Ters gelişen pozisyon sermayenin tümüne yayılmadan, zararı durdurmalıyız. Sizde
pozisyon açarken, bu konuya dikkat ederseniz, kazanç oranınız daha da artacaktır. Her
yaptığınız işlemde kazanç sağlamak söz konusu olmadığı için, zarar edilen pozisyonlarda
ne kadar az kaybedersek, toplamda elde ettiğimiz kazançta o kadar artacaktır.

Noktalar : Limit yada stop noktasına olan, tik bazında uzaklık.
Statü : İşlemin gerçekleşip gerçekleşmediğini bu kolondan takip edebiliriz.

8 ) Hızlı Emir Penceresi ;
Bu pencereler de Forex ekranlarındaki değişmez pencerelerden biridir. O an için
takip ettiğiniz pariteleri, bu kısımda büyüterek, önceden miktar girerek, istediğimiz fiyat
geldiği anda sadece “AL” yada “SAT” tuşuna basarak, işlemi gerçekleştirebiliriz.
Parite kısmında, işlem yapacağınız pariteyi görebilirisiniz, dilerseniz yandaki oklar
yardımıyla farklı bir pariteye geçebilirsiniz. Miktar kısmı yapacağınız işlem adedini
belirtir. Buradaki birimler “bin” ve “milyon” anlamına gelir. K harfi bin, M harfi ise
milyon u temsil eder. Örnek olarak miktar kısmına 5K koyarsak, 5 bin birim alış yada satış
yapmış oluruz. 2M yazarsak, 2 milyon birim işlem yapmak istiyoruz demek olur. Hesap

kullananlar genelde yurt dışı bağlantılı çalışan, yabancı para birimleri ile işlem yapan
kuruluşlardır. Amaç kur riskini, yani kurda oluşabilecek dalgalanmaları, minimize
etmektir.
Simdi örnek bir olay ve çözümünü birlikte inceleyelim. Örneğin ticaretle
uğraşıyorsunuz. Üretici firmadan ürünleri aldınız, döviz bazında ödemeyi gönderdiniz.

If you've looked around for strategies on trading in the Forex market, there's no doubt you've run across a lot of ads talking about the power of a black box system. Some sound intriguing, others sound way too good to be true. So what's the truth behind these black box systems?

First of all, I'm going to start by saying that not every black box system is bad. Some are extremely effective depending on what the market is doing, and some systems are designed pretty well to deal with the changes in the Forex market. That being said, there are several things that you'll need to consider and watch out for before deciding on whether or not to trust your real money to one of these black box systems.

A black box system is one that has been worked on by statisticians and traders to figure out that mathematical formula that is going to help them make the right trade and predict where the market is going to go. If it works, the profits can be great.

But there are several things to look out for, including:
1. The system's past track record
2. Is there a money back guarantee?
3. Does the system require a large up front payment?
4. Is it designed for all three market movements, or just one?

The Triad strategy for Forex trading takes into account that the market only moves three ways: trending, counter-trending, and breakout, and this system has a strategy for all three. Some black boxes may have a great trading strategy for a trending market, but what happens when the market counter-trends? Or the black box may have a great breakout strategy, but the market is rarely in a breakout, so how is that going to perform the majority of the time?

These are all extremely important questions to consider with any black box, as it is YOUR real hard earned money that will be at risk.

In addition, try to do some research and make sure that the system has an actual record of profit. If it doesn't, that should throw up some immediate red flags. Systems that have large up front fees with no money-back guarantees are also usually ones that you will want to avoid.

The last major thing to be wary of is over optimization. This is when all the data and successful signals are optimized to the point that instead of having a pattern that predicts the future, you have "curve fitting" where you make a line going through all the profitable points without developing an actual projection. This makes it look like a slam dunk because it includes a "successful" past, but it has no ability to predict the future and therefore doesn't give you any advantage.

In the end black boxes are like anything else: there's no Holy Grail, but there are solid systems and programs that can help traders make more off the Forex market. As always, look for a proven system that has a history of profitable trades, and when you find it, don't be afraid to act!

Oyuncuların isabetli işlemlerinde ne kadar kazandıklarını ve isabetsiz işlemlerinde ne kadar kaybettiklerini bilmediğimizden bu soruyu yanıtlayamayız.

Forex işlemlerinde kazanç yüzdesi her zaman en önemli faktör değildir. Elbette hepimiz gerçekleştirdiğimiz tüm işlemlerde kazanmak isteriz, ama hedefimiz sonuçta kâr elde etmekse, kuracağımız kazanç-kayıp denkleminde daha fazla parametreyi dikkate almalıyız. Buna risk/kazanç oranı denir, risk/kazanç oranı para yönetiminin en önemli öğelerinden biridir. Sürekli kar eden bir trader olmaya giden yola açılan kapıdır. Şimdi birkaç örneği inceleyelim:

Yukarıdaki örneklerde, X oyuncusu %75 oranında bir kazanç sağlarken 4:1 risk:kazanç oranını kullanmışsa sonuçta kazanç sağlamamış demektir. Ancak diğer taraftan, Y oyuncusu %40 oranında bir kazanç sağlamasına rağmen 1:2 risk/kazanç oranını kullandığı için daha karlı bir oyuncudur.

Yeni başlayan oyuncuların işlemlerinde 1:2 risk/kazanç oranı kullanmaları önerilir. Örneğin 25 pip’lik bir riskle bir pozisyon açıyorsanız, 50 pip’lik kar, yani iki kat kazanç elde etmeye çalışmalısınız. Spread dediğimiz kavram, paritelerin alış ve satış fiyatları arasındaki fark olarak
tanımlanır. Diğer bir değişle, aracı kurum ya da broker’ın, müşterileri olan yatırımcılara
sattığı fiyat ile onlardan aldığı fiyat arasındaki farktır.
Bu fark sebebiyle yatırımcı, eğer ki aldığı anda satış gerçekleştirirse ( fiyatta hiçbir
hareket söz konusu olmadığını varsayarsak ) zarar etmiş olur. Bunun sebebi spread farkıdır
ve bu fark yatırımcının hesabına zarar olarak yazılır, çünkü her zaman anlık verilerde
yatırımcının satış yaptığı fiyat, alım yaptığı fiyattan daha düşüktür. Kâr elde etmek için
fiyatın biraz daha yükselmesini beklemelidir. Satış fiyatı ve alış fiyatı, aralarındaki fiyat
farkı korunarak birlikte yükselir. Alış fiyatının yükseldiği birimde, satış fiyatı da yükselmiş
olur.
Forex piyasalarında fiyat yükselme birimi olarak “pips” denilen birim kullanılır.
Orjinali “Percentage in Points” olarak bilinen pips, tüm pariteler in ölçüm birimi olarak
ortak bilinir.
Şimdi spread ve pips tanımlarını bir örnek üzerinde tanımlayalım.
Öncelikle aşağıdaki tabloyu inceleyelim. Bu tabloda EUR\USD paritesinin 14.10.2006-
14.11.2006 tarihleri arasındaki fiyat hareketleri gözükmektedir.

Grafikte 23.10.2006 EUR\USD paritesi 1,2547-1,2550 olarak Forex ekranımızdaki
grafiklere yansımaktadır. Aynı grafikte 14.11.2006 tarihinde EUR\USD fiyat göstergesi
1,2802-1,2805 olarak yansımıştır.
Buradan daha da net anlaşılabileceği gibi 1,2547-1,2550 arasındaki 3 birimlik fark
spread olmaktır ve yükseliş gerçekleştiği tarihte bile 1,2802-1,2805 olarak 3 birimlik farkı
korumuştur.
1,2805 ile 1,2550 arasındaki 255 birimlik fark Forex te, 255 pips lik fark olarak
adlandırılır.

Forex yatırımcılarının temel hedefi, yabancı ülke paralarının hareketlerinden kâr
elde etmektir.
Şu anda Forex piyasasında işlem yapan yatırımcıların %95’i, spekülatif işlem yapan
yatırımcılardır. Geri kalan %5 ise hedge ( korunma amaçlı ) ve farklı amaçlı işlem yapan
yatırımcılardır.
Forex işlemleri online olarak, yapıldığı için fiziksel bir para değişimi söz konusu
değildir. Kaydi para ile yapılan işlemlerdir, fakat yatırımcı ile şirket arasında bir sözleşme
yapılmış olur. Taraflardan biri alım için, diğeri satım için anlaşmış olur. Yatırımcı
pozisyonu kapattığı zaman bu taahhüt, yatırımcı başka bir pozisyon açıncaya kadar
sonlanmış olur.
Forex İşlemlerinin İçeriği :
Forex işlemleri yatırımcı ve şirket arasında bir kontrat anlaşması ile oluşur. Bu
anlaşmanın içeriğinde :
• Hangi para biriminin alınıp, hangi para biriminin satılacağı,
• Pozisyon açmak için kullanılacak miktar,
• İki para birimi arasındaki değişim oranı.
Bazı işlemlere “zaman” koşulu da eklenir, ama şu anda sadece anlık işlemlerden
bahsettiğimiz için bu kavramı dâhil etmiyoruz.
Bu anlaşmaya dayanarak, alım-satım işleminin belirlenen miktarla, belirlenen oranla
ve belirlenen para birimleri arasında yapılması bir yükümlülük haline gelmiş oluyor.
İşlemler belirli 2 yabancı para biriminin birbirine bölümüyle oluşan rakamlarla
yapılır. Bu iki ülke parasının birbirine oranına parite denir. Örnek vermek gerekirse;
EUR/USD paritesi EURO’nun Amerikan Doları karşısında olan değerini gösterir.

Şimdi de Forex piyasalarında yapılan işlemlerden bir örnek inceleyelim.
EUR/USD (Euro - Amerikan Doları) paritesi spot piyasalarda 1,2800 olarak
gözüküyor. Ve bir yatırımcı bu fiyattan 10.000 Euro alış yapıyor. Yani 12.800 Dolar
vererek, 10.000 Euro alıyor. Bir ay sonra EUR/USD paritesi 1.2960 oluyor. Bu demek
oluyor ki, Euro bu bir ay içinde dolar karşısında değer kazanmış. Eğer yatırımcı 10.000
Euro’yu satmak isterse 12.960 Dolar alıyor.

bakıma “normal alış-veriş” ya da “ticaret” mantığının ters çevrilmiş halidir. Önce satış
fiyatını belirtip, ileride geri almak için fiyat takip ederiz. Açığa satış yaptığınız aracı,
ileride almak zorundasınız. Fiyatlar düşer ise alıma geçip pozisyonunuzu kapatıp kâr
edebilirsiniz.
Bu işlemi bir örnekle açıklarsak, daha iyi anlaşılacağını düşünüyoruz;
Amerikan Dolarının, ileriki günlerde Euro karşısında değer kazanacağını yani,
EUR/USD paritesinin değer kaybedeceğini öngördüğümüz anda, parite 1.2850 dir. Bu
fiyattan açığa satış işlemi gerçekleştirdiğimizi varsayalım. Yani elimizde olmayan bir para
birimini, ileride geri almak şartıyla satıyoruz. Eğer ki piyasa öngördüğümüz üzere düşüş
yönünde hareket ederse ve 1.1850 seviyesine gelirse, biz alım yaparız.
Ve sonuca baktığımızda;
Alış fiyatımız : 1.1850
Satış fiyatımız : 1,2850
Görüldüğü üzere aradaki Euro cinsinden 0.100 birimlik fark, yatırımcıya kâr olarak
işleniyor. Ama daha önce de bahsettiğimiz gibi sistemde oluşan tüm aktiviteler Amerikan
Doları olarak işlendiği için, bu kâr, USD ye çevrilip, hesaba aktarılır.
Fiyatların bizim düşüncemiz yönünde gelişmesi durumunda aradaki tutar kadar kâr
edebiliriz. Böylece piyasadaki yönü önceden tahmin edebildiğimiz zamanlarda Forex size
kâr etme fırsatını her zaman verecektir.

Gold production ‘in crisis’ - AngloGold Ashanti CEO

Gold production was “in crisis” and a gold price of $900-to-$1 000/oz was needed to arrest the downward trend, AngloGold Ashanti CEO Mark Cutifani said on Thursday.
Cutifani said that the world had seen a decline in the production of gold across the globe in the past seven years, and that the industry could experience another decline of production at up to 5% a year for the next five years.
“The gold industry from a production perspective is in crisis,” he said.
There had been a 20% to 30% production decline in South Africa in the last five years and grades are continuing to diminish in opencast mines around the world.
That lack of production, he said, would result in gold’s fundamentals improving.
Recovery of production was now being set back by the current global financial crisis, which would exacerbate the current problem.
“We need something in the order of $900/oz to $1 000/oz for there to be ongoing and sustainable investment in gold, to turn that trend around,” he added.
On a fundamentals basis, the industry was not investing enough in future production and, as a consequence, there were also increasing cost pressures on those operations that were going deeper and increasing strip ratios.
“On fundamentals, we believe that the gold price will be strong, and certainly we’ve been encouraged that gold has performed relatively well through the current crisis, particularly in the financial market with redemptions.
“Is it next month, is it the next three months, or is it the next six months that we will see the fundamentals fully assert themselves, and again move towards that $1 000/oz target that we see long-term sustainability?” he asked.
“If you look at the price of gold in the last month or two, it has done much better than all of the other commodities, because the fundamentals are still at play,” he said.
Cutifani said that there had been nowhere near the same level of expansionary investment in more gold production as there had been in other metals.
“Certainly, as the most competitive, total-cost operator in the major space in the gold industry, we are positioned to outperform any other major player in gold,” he added.
Cutifani said that the September quarter had been a tough one, with gold trading in a range from a high of $988/oz to a low of $736/oz, post quarter seeing a dramatic selloff across all markets and gold dipping below $700/oz and the rand weakening to R11 to the dollar.
AngloGold Ashanti was expecting a gold production of 1,25-million ounces and total cash costs of $460/oz, on exchange-rate assumptions of R8,40/$, A$/$0,80, Brazilian 1.9/$ and an Argentinean peso 3,11/$.
“As of the first quarter of next year, you will see our discount on stock price go from what would have been 18% before we started the accelerated hedge book reconstruction, to around 6% in the first quarter.
“What that actually means is around $250-million more revenue in a quarter as a consequence of taking that hedge book off, if the gold price is, say, $900/oz,” he said.
“That is significant when you consider that we have got the most competitive business on a total cost basis in the world of gold,” he said.
Credit Suisse Standard Securities research analyst Dr David Davis commented that AngloGold Ashanti’s cost structures were “competitive” and the uranium credits might assist the company. The capital cost structures of gold companies like Barrick and Newmont were higher than those of AngloGold Ashanti.
“Certainly, AngloGold Ashanti is well up there,” Davis said.
Afrifocus Securities mining analyst Mark Madeyski told Mining Weekly Online that he was impressed with the current AngloGold Ashanti, which had brought in “some very good management”.
“But their operations are getting deeper, and they seem overly optimistic on safety. You will never eliminate fatalities, not at these depths,” he said.
Also, travel time to the face was becoming excessive.
The Anglogold Ashanti performance for the third quarter 2008 included:
* Delivery for the third consecutive quarter on production and cost guidance, with continued reduction in the hedge book;
* Production at 1,265-million ounces, 1% higher than previous quarter, with Obuasi and Cerro Vanguardia posting substantial improvements;
* Total cash costs at $486/oz - better than guidance but higher than the previous quarter, owing to wage increases, power tariffs, inflation and inventory movements - while costs are expected to reduce to approximately $460/oz in the fourth quarter;
* Continuing safety focus, with lost time injury rate improving 10% and despite four fatalities during the quarter, the fatality rate reduced for the year by 60% against the same period in2007;
* Uranium production up 7% to 346 000 pounds, with enhanced exposure to the spot market expected in the fourth quarter;
* Hedge-book commitments reduced by 580,000oz during the quarter, with the company on track to reduce book to 6-million ounces by year-end;
* Adjusted headline loss of $119-million incurred, as a result of accelerated hedge reduction;
AngloGold Ashanti reported an increase in gold production on 1,265Moz, 1% higher than the previous quarter and in-line with guidance.
Cerro Vanguardia in Argentina and Obuasi in Ghana posted significant improvements against the previous quarter, with gold production increasing.
The South African operations continued to perform steadily, using 92,4% of power supply, while operating at 100% production capacity.
The total cash costs for the quarter at $486/oz, were higher than the prior quarter’s $434/oz due to input cost inflation, annual wage increases, higher power tariffs and inventory adjustments, but were within market guidance of $490/oz.
The company also reduced its hedge commitments by 580 000 oz during the quarter, with a total hedge reduction year-to-date of almost 5-million ounces. As a result of the continued accelerated hedge reduction, the company received a price of $644/oz and posted an adjusted headline loss of $119-million.
Net debt was reduced from $2,7-billion at the end of June 2008 to $1,23-billion at the end of September 2008.

Foreign Exchange describes the purchase of a particular currency from an individual or institution and the simultaneous sell of another currency at the equivalent value or current exchange rate. Essentially, the process of exchanging one currency for another is a simple trade based on the current rates of the two currencies involved.

At the core level of the world’s need for money exchange is the international traveler. When traveling from the US to England, for example, you will of course need the local currency to pay for transportation, food, and so on. Upon arrival at the airport you will surrender (sell) your US Dollars in order to receive (buy) the equivalent in British Pounds. In this example, you sold the USD and bought the GBP, conversely the foreign exchange counter bought the USD and sold the GBP. The prices at which you buy and sell currencies at are known as exchange rates. This rate or price fluctuates based on demand, political, and economic events surrounding each country’s currency.

The example above illustrates foreign currency trading in basic terms as it relates to world travelers. The History of Forex Trading

Many centuries ago, the value of goods were expressed in terms of other goods. This sort of economics was based on the barter system between individuals. The obvious limitations of such a system encouraged establishing more generally accepted mediums of exchange. It was important that a common base of value could be established. In some economies, items such as teeth, feathers even stones served this purpose, but soon various metals, in particular gold and silver, established themselves as an accepted means of payment as well as a reliable storage of value.

Coins were initially minted from the preferred metal and in stable political regimes, the introduction of a paper form of governmental I.O.U. during the Middle Ages also gained acceptance. This type of I.O.U. was introduced more successfully through force than through persuasion and is now the basis of today’s modern currencies.

Before the first World war, most Central banks supported their currencies with convertibility to gold. Paper money could always be exchanged for gold. However, for this type of gold exchange, there was not necessarily a Centrals bank need for full coverage of the government's currency reserves. This did not occur very often, however when a group mindset fostered this disastrous notion of converting back to gold in mass, panic resulted in so-called "Run on banks " The combination of a greater supply of paper money without the gold to cover led to devastating inflation and resulting political instability.

In order to protect local national interests, increased foreign exchange controls were introduced to prevent market forces from punishing monetary irresponsibility.

Near the end of WWII, The Bretton Woods agreement was reached on the initiative of the USA in July 1944. The conference held in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire rejected John Maynard Keynes suggestion for a new world reserve currency in favor of a system built on the US Dollar. International institutions such as the IMF, The World Bank and GATT were created in the same period as the emerging victors of WWII searched for a way to avoid the destabilizing monetary crises leading to the war. The Bretton Woods agreement resulted in a system of fixed exchange rates that reinstated The Gold Standard partly, fixing the USD at $35.00 per ounce of Gold and fixing the other main currencies to the dollar, initially intended to be on a permanent basis.

The Bretton Woods system came under increasing pressure as national economies moved in different directions during the 1960’s. A number of realignments held the system alive for a long time but eventually Bretton Woods collapsed in the early 1970’s following president Nixon's suspension of the gold convertibility in August 1971. The dollar was not any longer suited as the sole international currency at a time when it was under severe pressure from increasing US budget and trade deficits.

The last few decades have seen foreign exchange trading develop into the worlds largest global market. Restrictions on capital flows have been removed in most countries, leaving the market forces free to adjust foreign exchange rates according to their perceived values.

In Europe, the idea of fixed exchange rates had by no means died. The European Economic Community introduced a new system of fixed exchange rates in 1979, the European Monetary System. This attempt to fix exchange rates met with near extinction in 1992-93, when built-up economic pressures forced devaluations of a number of weak European currencies. The quest continued in Europe for currency stability with the 1991 signing of The Maastricht treaty. This was to not only fix exchange rates but also actually replace many of them with the Euro in 2002.

Today, Europe has embraced the Euro in 12 participating countries. The physical introduction of the Euro on January 1, 2002 saw the old countries currencies made obsolete on July 1, 2002.

In Asia, the lack of sustainability of fixed foreign exchange rates has gained new relevance with the events in South East Asia in the latter part of 1997, where currency after currency was devalued against the US dollar, leaving other fixed exchange rates in particular in South America also looking very vulnerable.

While commercial companies have had to face a much more volatile currency environment in recent years, investors and financial institutions have discovered a new playground. The size of the FOREX market now dwarfs any other investment market.

It is estimated that more than USD 1,200 Billion are traded every day, that is the same amount as almost 40 times the daily USD volume on the American NASDAQ market.

Foreign Exchange Market, or Forex as it is commonly called, is an international exchange market to buy and sell different currencies from around the world. An investor has the ability to buy and sell these currencies in order to create gains from small movements in the value of one currency over another. The forex market is open from Monday at 0:00 GMT until Friday at 10:00 GMT. For this reason Forex traders are not limited to the general time constraints of the New York Stock Exchange or NASDAQ.

This versatility attracts many investors to become Forex traders. The liquidity of the Foreign Exchange Market is also very attractive for the Forex investor as trades range from 1 to 1.5 trillion dollars on a daily basis. These massive amounts of trades make it extremely difficult for any one trader to affect the market.

Foreign Exchange Trading is simply the purchase and sales of currency based on the strength of the currency and the fluctuation in the value of that currency. For example, if one were to invest $1,000 against the British pound at 1.7999 with a 1% margin and anticipate the exchange rate to climb. What is traded in the Forex market?

The instrument traded by Forex traders and investors are currency pairs. A currency pair is the exchange rate of one currency over another. The most traded currency pairs are:

USD/CHF: Swiss franc

USD/CAD: Canadian dollar
USD/JPY: Yen
EUR/USD: Euro
AUD/USD: Aussie

These six currency pairs generate up to 85% of the overall volume in the Forex market. So, for instance, if a trader goes long on the Euro, she or he is simultaneously buying the EUR and selling the USD. If the same trader goes short or sells the Aussie, she or he is simultaneously selling the AUD and buying the USD.

The first currency of each currency pair is referred as the base currency, while second currency is referred as the counter or quote currency. Each currency pair is expressed in units of the counter currency needed to get one unit of the base currency. If the price or quote of the EUR/USD is 1.2545, it means that 1.2545 US dollars are needed to get one EUR.

Bid/Ask Spread
All currency pairs are commonly quoted with a bid and ask price. The bid (always lower than the ask) is the price your broker is willing to buy at, thus the trader should sell at this price. The ask is the price your broker is willing to sell at, thus the trader should buy at this price.

A Pip
A pip is the minimum incremental move a currency pair can make. A pip stands for price interest point. A move in the EUR/USD from 1.2545 to 1.2560 equals 15 pips. And a move in the USD/JPY from 112.35 to 113.40 equals 105 pips.

Margin Trading (leverage)
In contrast with other financial markets where you require the full deposit of the amount traded, in the Forex market you require only a margin deposit. The rest will be granted by your broker.

The leverage provided by some brokers goes up to 400:1. This means that you require only 1/400 or .25% in balance to open a position (plus the floating gains/losses.) Most brokers offer 100:1, where every trader requires 1% in balance to open a position.

The standard lot size in the Forex market is $100,000 USD.

For instance, a trader wants to get long one lot in EUR/USD and he or she is using 100:1 leverage.

To open such position, he or she requires 1% in balance or $1,000 USD.

Of course it is not advisable to open a position with such limited funds in our trading balance. If the trade goes against our trader, the position is to be closed by the broker. This takes us to our next important term.

Margin Call
A margin call occurs when the balance of the trading account falls below the maintenance margin (capital required to open one position, 1% when the leverage used is 100:1, 2% when leverage used is 50:1, and so on.) At this moment, the broker sells off (or buys back in the case of short positions) all your trades, leaving the trader "theoretically" with the maintenance margin.

Most of the time margin calls occur when money management is not properly applied.

How are the mechanics of a Forex trade?
The trader, after an extensive analysis, decides there is a higher probability of the British pound to go up. He or she decides to go long risking 30 pips and having a target (reward) of 60 pips. If the market goes against our trader he/she will lose 30 pips, on the other hand, if the market goes in the intended way, he or she will gain 60 pips. The actual quote for the pound is 1.8524/27, 4 pips spread. Our trader gets long at 1.8530 (ask). By the time the market gets to either our target (called take profit order) or our risk point (called stop loss level) we will have to sell it at the bid price (the price our broker is willing to buy our position back.) In order to make 40 pips, our take profit level should be placed at 1.8590 (bid price.) If our target gets hit, the market ran 64 pips (60 pips plus the 4 pip spread.) If our stop loss level is hit, the market ran 30 pips against us.

The rolling data that is produced throughout the trading day creates the interest in the markets and informs traders of the strong markets to back.

The Trend is Your Friend

Forex technical analysis is largely based around forex market movement trends, thus creating the widely used phrase ’the trend is your friend’ amongst traders. Buying and selling at the right time is the key in maintaining good levels of profits, following a trend is also about knowing where to entry a trade and more importantly where to exit.

Support and Resistance

Support and resistance is the basic of forex technical analysis. Support and resistance levels are points where a chart experiences recurring upward or downward pressure. A support level is usually the low point in any chart pattern (hourly, weekly or annually), whereas a resistance level is the high or the peak point of the pattern. Buying and selling at the support and resistance points makes a greater profit margin as long as they remain unbroken.

History Tends To Repeat Itself

Trading successfully is by no means a simple matter. It requires time, market knowledge and market understanding and a large amount of self restraint. ACM does not manage accounts, nor does it give market advice, that is the job of money managers and introducing brokers. As market professionals, we can however point the novice in the right direction and indicate what are correct trading tactics and considerations and what is total nonsense.

Anyone who says you can consistently make money in foreign exchange markets is being untruthful. Foreign exchange by nature, is a volatile market. The practice of trading it by way of margin increases that volatility exponentially. We are therefore talking about a very ’fast market’ which is naturally inconsistent. Following that precept, it is logical to say that in order to make a successful trade, a trader has to take into account technical and fundamental data and make an informed decision based on his perception of market sentiment and market expectation. Timing a trade correctly is probably the most important variable in trading successfully but invariably there will be times where a traders’ timing will be off. Don’t expect to generate returns on every trade.

Let’s enumerate what a trader needs to do in order to put the best chances for profitable trades on his side:

Trade with money you can afford to lose:
Trading fx markets is speculative and can result in loss, it is also exciting, exhilarating and can be addictive. The more you are ’involved with your money’ the harder it is to make a clear-headed decision. Money you have earned is precious, but money you need to survive should never be traded.

Identify the state of the market:
What is the market doing? Is it trending upwards, downwards, is it in a trading range. Is the trend strong or weak, did it begin long ago or does it look like a new trend that’s forming. Getting a clear picture of the market situation is laying the groundwork for a successful trade.

Determine what time frame you’re trading on:
Many traders get in the market without thinking when they would like to get out, after all the goal is to make money. This is true but when trading, one must extrapolate in his mind’s eye the movement that one expects to happen. Within this extrapolation, resides a price evolution during a certain period of time. Attached to this is the idea of exit price. The importance of this is to mentally put your trade in perspective and although it is clearly impossible to know exactly when you will exit the market, it is important to define from the outset if you’ll be ’scalping’ (trying to get a few points off the market) trading intra-day, or going longer term. This will also determine what chart period you’re looking at. If you trade many times a day, there’s no point basing your technical analysis on a daily graph, you’ll probably want to analyse 30 minute or hour graphs. Additionally it is important to know the different time periods when various financial centers enter and exit the market as this creates more or less volatility and liquidity and can influence market movements.

Time your trade:
You can be right about a potential market movement but be too early or too late when you enter the trade. Timing considerations are twofold, an expected market figure like CPI, retail sales or a federal reserve decision can consolidate a movement that’s already underway. Timing your move means knowing what’s expected and taking into account all considerations before trading. Technical analysis can help you identify when and at what price a move may occur. We will look at technical analysis in more detail later.

If in doubt, stay out:
If you’re unsure about a trade and find you’re hesitating, stay on the sidelines.

Trade logical transaction sizes:
Margin trading allows the fx trader a very large amount of leverage, trading at full margin capacity (in ACM’s case 1% or 0.5%) can make for some very large profits or losses on an account. Scaling your trades so that you may re-enter the market or make transactions on other currencies is generally wiser. In short, don’t trade amounts that can potentially wipe you out and don’t put all your eggs in one basket. ACM offers the same rates regardless of transaction sizes so a customer has nothing to lose by starting small.

Gauge market sentiment:
Market sentiment is what most of the market is perceived to be feeling about the market and therefore what it is doing or will do. This is basically about trend. You may have heard the term ’the trend is your friend’, this basically means that if you’re in the right direction with a strong trend you will make successful trades. This of course is very simplistic, a trend is capable of reversal at any time. Technical and fundamental data can indicate however if the trend has begun long ago and if it is strong or weak.

Market expectation:
Market expectation relates to what most people are expecting as far as upcoming news is concerned. If people are expecting an interest rate to rise and it does, then there usually will not be much of a movement because the information will already have been ’discounted’ by the market, alternatively if the adverse happens, markets will usually react violently.

Use what other traders use:
In a perfect world, every trader would be looking at a 14 day RSI and making trading decisions based on that. If that was the case, when RSI would go under the 30 level, everyone would buy and by consequence the price would rise. Needless to say, the world is not perfect and not all market participants follow the same technical indicators, draw the same trendlines and identify the same support & resistance levels. The great diversity of opinions and techniques used translates directly into price diversity. Traders however have a tendency to use a limited variety of technical tools. The most common are 9 and 14 day RSI, obvious trendlines and support levels, fibonnacci retracement, MACD and 9, 20 & 40 day exponential moving averages. The closer you get to what most traders are looking at, the more precise your estimations will be. The reason for this is simple arithmetic, larger numbers of buyers than sellers at a certain price will move the market up from that price and vice-versa.

The best way to handle Forex trading is to have a reliable trading system coupled with a rigid money management system.

There are many different strategies employed in Forex trading today. What you should do is either adopt one of them or come up with your own. No matter which path you choose to take, the important thing is that your trading system has been proven or can be proven to be reliable. How would you know that your trading system is reliable?

It is quite simple, really. A reliable trading system is one which gives you more winning trades than losing ones. More than this, your winning trades should be – in general – of greater value than your losing trades. You do not need to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out. FOREX - the foreign exchange market or currency market or Forex is the market where one currency is traded for another. It is one of the largest markets in the world.

Some of the participants in this market are simply seeking to exchange a foreign currency for their own, like multinational corporations which must pay wages and other expenses in different nations than they sell products in. However, a large part of the market is made up of currency traders, who speculate on movements in exchange rates, much like others would speculate on movements of stock prices. Currency traders try to take advantage of even small fluctuations in exchange rates.

In the foreign exchange market there is little or no 'inside information'. Exchange rate fluctuations are usually caused by actual monetary flows as well as anticipations on global macroeconomic conditions. Significant news is released publicly so, at least in theory, everyone in the world receives the same news at the same time.

Currencies are traded against one another. Each pair of currencies thus constitutes an individual product and is traditionally noted XXX/YYY, where YYY is the ISO 4217 international three-letter code of the currency into which the price of one unit of XXX currency is expressed. For instance, EUR/USD is the price of the euro expressed in US dollars, as in 1 euro = 1.2045 dollar.

Unlike stocks and futures exchange, foreign exchange is indeed an interbank, over-the-counter (OTC) market which means there is no single universal exchange for specific currency pair. The foreign exchange market operates 24 hours per day throughout the week between individuals with forex brokers, brokers with banks, and banks with banks. If the European session is ended the Asian session or US session will start, so all world currencies can be continually in trade. Traders can react to news when it breaks, rather than waiting for the market to open, as is the case with most other markets.

Average daily international foreign exchange trading volume was $1.9 trillion in April 2004 according to the BIS study.

Like any market there is a bid/offer spread (difference between buying price and selling price). On major currency crosses, the difference between the price at which a market maker will sell ("ask", or "offer" to a wholesale customer and the price at which the same market-maker will buy ("bid" from the same wholesale customer is minimal, usually only 1 or 2 pips. In the EUR/USD price of 1.4238 a pip would be the '8' at the end. So the bid/ask quote of EUR/USD might be 1.4238/1.4239.

This, of course, does not apply to retail customers. Most individual currency speculators will trade using a broker which will typically have a spread marked up to say 3-20 pips (so in our example 1.4237/1.4239 or 1.423/1.425). The broker will give their clients often huge amounts of margin, thereby facilitating clients spending more money on the bid/ask spread. The brokers are not regulated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (since they do not sell securities), so they are not bound by the same margin limits as stock brokerages. They do not typically charge margin interest, however since currency trades must be settled in 2 days, they will "resettle" open positions (again collecting the bid/ask spread).

Individual currency speculators can work during the day and trade in the evenings, taking advantage of the market's 24 hours long trading day.
